Inside a Modern Zeppelin Concept design by DesignQ

Gambar
Airships may seem to be anachronisms from the distant past, but Hybrid Air Vehicles in Great Britain is building a high-tech, super-capable, modern version dubbed the Airlander 10 (not quite as grand as the Aeroscraft concept we offered in Ultimate Gift Guide, but much more feasible). Now, DesignQ has imagined a luxury interior concept for the Airlander—revealed at the recent Farnborough Air Show in Great Britain—that would be ideal for adventurers touring remote and spectacular destinations. HAV’s Airlander 10 is more than 300 feet long, and carries a spacious stand-up cabin that measures 150 by 10 feet—bigger than most private jets. With plenty of space for luxury accommodations, along with floor-to-ceiling windows, the airship provides a travel experience not possible in any other way—similar to a cruise ship, but exploring the sky instead of the oceans. DesignQ, a boutique design studio based in London, worked on their luxury cabin concept for more than a year before its debut at F...

Mercedes-AMG partners with Lufthansa to design executive jet cabins

Gambar
It was at the 2015 EBACE show in Geneva where Lufthansa Technik showcased its Mercedes-Benz Style VIP Cabin, which was co-developed with the German carmaker. The two brands have collaborated once again to come up with a new version of the VIP Cabin. Called Inspired by AMG, the new sportive take on the prestigious VIP aircraft cabin was introduced at recently-concluded 2018 EBACE show. The latest design of the aircraft cabin blends the dynamic architecture of the Mercedes-Benz Style interiors featuring its characteristic flowing DNA helix, and Sensual Purity design language with elements inspired by the unique and sportive appearance of Daimler AG subsidiary Mercedes-AMG. “Based on the large international interest and positive feedback which we have achieved so far, we have decided to develop a second variant of our extremely well-received Mercedes-Benz Style VIP cabin. We want to reach new customer groups with a strong affinity for a unique sportive design. That’s why we took inspirati...

Gulfstream Announces G500 and G600 Business Jets Delivery

Gambar
The annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva is one of the year’s most important opportunities for aircraft manufacturers to generate buzz and excitement for their upcoming releases. And at this year’s conference—which ran from May 28 to 31—Gulfstream made an impressive showing with full displays of its upcoming G500 and G600 models, as well as the brand’s flagship G650ER. Gulfstream 500 interior Though Gulfstream did not introduce any brand new models this year (Bombardier debuted the Global 5500 and 6500), it did provide updates regarding its two new upcoming business jets, the G500 and G600. Further along in development, the G500—which made its first appearance at EBACE last year—has just completed function and reliability testing, paving the way for it to receive FAA type certification later in the summer. Embraer Introduces Its First Flying Taxi Concept at the Uber Elevate Summit

Gambar
The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer has revealed details and pictures of its new electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing concept. The second annual Uber Elevate Summit—a two-day event hosted by the ridesharing behemoth dedicated to exploring advances in urban flight technology—kicked off today in Los Angeles, giving attendees the first look at Embraer’s new electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (VTOL) aircraft. Like the rest of Uber’s partners—including big aviation names like Bell Helicopter and Mooney—Embraer hopes its design will be adopted by Uber for its Elevate air taxi ecosystem, which Uber anticipates will be operating in a limited number of cities by 2020. The futuristic aircraft (presented thus far only in renderings) was designed by Embraer X, a skunk works–like arm of the Brazilian air manufacturer dedicated to developing innovations in transportation. Created following the last Uber Elevate Summit—during which Embraer announced a partnership with Uber—Embraer X is based i...

BMW Designworks Refines The Virgin Hyperloop One

Gambar
Back To The Future had nothing on this incredible design. Don’t take me wrong, I still love that DeLorean and it’s ‘super’ abilities, although that cool car was already impressive before the Flux Capacitor took it in a journey through time. But nowadays we are looking at a completely different future, one where BMW Designworks has something to say about what’s what. The special division from BMW joined forces with Virgin Hyperloop One in order to create a prototype design for the Dubai hyperloop capsule. Recently unveiled at City Walk Dubai, the full-scale hyperloop prototype before you has left everyone in the audience speechless. The Hyperloop will be more cost efficient to society than airplanes, taking you from point A to point B at impressive speeds of up to 1,080 km/h. In the meantime, BMW Designworks has envisioned a comfortable and engaging interior, one that would not feel restrictive or claustrophobic. The designers from BMW took inspiration from traditional Arabic patterns...

ETIHAD HAS A $21,000 PRIVATE ROOM FOR A LUXURIOUS TRAVEL EXPERIENCE FROM ABU DHABI TO LONDON.

Gambar
Etihad is setting a whole new standard in air travel with this private room. Traveling from Abu Dhabi to London just got even better and for the cost of only  $21,000 (Euros 17.500) I am personally looking forward to more airlines creating such wonderful travel accommodations. While low-cost carriers try to squeeze new seats into every last inch of cabin space, luxury airlines are taking first class to new heights. Quickly-growing Mideast carrier Etihad Airways is the first airline to offer a multi-room suite for its most privileged guests. Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s chief commercial officer, told the AP a suite will likely cost about three or four times as much as a regular first-class seat. That would be about $21,000 (Euros 17.500) for a one-way ticket from Abu Dhabi to London. The suite covers 125 square feet and includes a closed-off living room, leather seating, a chilled minibar and a 32-inch flat-screen television. As if the suites, which will be available only on Airbu...

The New Pilatus Aircraft PC 24 Business Jet

Gambar
The Pilatus PC-24 twin-engine personal jet is designed to take off and land from very short and unpaved runways, making it easier to fly into smaller airports. When Pilatus introduced its first-ever jet in 2013, the order book was full to capacity in less than two days. Now deliveries of the PC-24 twin-engine personal jet are expected to start in February, with the first one going to PlaneSense, a fractional operator based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. PlaneSense, which already operates the world’s largest civilian fleet of Pilatus PC-12 turboprops, has ordered six of the jets, which sell for about $8.9 million. The PC-24 is designed to be “super versatile,” the company says, able to take off and land from very short and even unpaved runways. This capability opens up many options for operators around the world, making it easier to fly into smaller airports that may be closer to a traveler’s ultimate destination. The jet’s spacious cabin seats up to 10. It can be flown by a single pilot...

Zeptair: Behind some of the most colorful private jets

Gambar
Zepter, the Serbian group headquartered in Switzerland, is mainly known for its consumer goods business focusing on cooking and cleaning equipment. A less known part of its business however is ZeptAir , the private aviation company it started back in January 2011 to rent out its corporate fleet. At the time, ZeptAir's fleet was made up of two Bombardier aircrafts. a Challenger 300 and a Challenger 605. The latter, was styled in a square, multi-color scheme that became associated with Zepter, and later on its corporate fleet. In May 2013, the company took delivery of a new Bombardier Global 5000, styled in the same color scheme, during a ceremony at Bombardier's Completion Center in Quebec. With a range of 5,200 nautical miles, ZeptAir's Global 5000 was configured to carry up to 11 passengers comfortably and able to fuel from London to Los Angeles without refueling. Shortly prior to the delivery, ZeptAir partnered with Amira Air in an effort to be able to offer a larger flee...
