Acionna Yacht Concept Revealed

Gambar
British yacht designer Andy Waugh has released his latest energy-efficient concept. British designer Andy Waugh has announced his latest yacht concept. The impressive 175m  (574-foot) eight-deck motor yacht is destined to push boundaries—not only in style but in efficiency, too. Designed to challenge preconceptions about a yacht of its size, its elegant lines are complemented by the finishing touches throughout. Acionna’s interior is built for those with imagination. The yacht’s ample space can include just about anything, including (but not limited to) a full-size squash court, helicopter hanger, or 20m (66-foot) indoor pool. With eight decks, there is plenty of space to play with. The double-height main saloon features panoramic curved glass overlooking the main aft-deck pool. Uniquely situated between a central “island” of communal areas, the pool also flows down the sloped transom and into a lower pool of the swim platform. Yet another unique feature to this advanced concept is...

The most anticipated car of 2018 and, quite possibly, the most anticipated Rolls-Royce of all time, Rolls-Royce Cullinan is finally unveiled! Named after the largest diamond ever discovered which now resides in the British Crown Jewels, the super-luxury SUV is the jewel in its own right. The 6.75 litre twin-turbo V12 Rolls-Royce engine delivers 563bhp/420kW and 850Nm/627lb ft of torque to the all-new all-wheel drive, all-wheel steer system needed to overcome any challenge. It lowers itself by 40mm to make entry effortless as the iconic Rolls-Royce coach doors stand open to welcome driver and passengers to their adventure. Embraer Introduces Its First Flying Taxi Concept at the Uber Elevate Summit

Gambar
The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer has revealed details and pictures of its new electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing concept. The second annual Uber Elevate Summit—a two-day event hosted by the ridesharing behemoth dedicated to exploring advances in urban flight technology—kicked off today in Los Angeles, giving attendees the first look at Embraer’s new electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (VTOL) aircraft. Like the rest of Uber’s partners—including big aviation names like Bell Helicopter and Mooney—Embraer hopes its design will be adopted by Uber for its Elevate air taxi ecosystem, which Uber anticipates will be operating in a limited number of cities by 2020. The futuristic aircraft (presented thus far only in renderings) was designed by Embraer X, a skunk works–like arm of the Brazilian air manufacturer dedicated to developing innovations in transportation. Created following the last Uber Elevate Summit—during which Embraer announced a partnership with Uber—Embraer X is based i...

The New Bentley Bentayga V8 Is Just as Posh as Its 12-Cylinder Sibling

Gambar
The 542 hp SUV carries a four-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine and a wealth of refinement. Two years on from launching one of the world’s most luxurious SUVs, Bentley—the nearly century-old British automaker—is launching the Bentayga V8. What’s new? Most importantly perhaps is that alpha-numeric bit that follows the Bentayga name. It signifies the new 542 hp, four-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, which generates 568 ft lbs of torque. We recently set off to the Austrian and Swiss Alps to stretch the new model’s legs on some exceptionally scenic roads. The Bentayga V8 bears many of the same aesthetics of its W-12-powered sibling, with four round LED lights up front, the same stance, muscular arched shoulders, and a familiar silhouette. But most notably, the matrix grille swaps the chrome treatment for a black finish, a subtle enhancement to our eyes. Not to be left out, the rear end gets a subtle tweak, as well—the twin pipes are made to look like quad pipes to further call out the difference ...

Ovation is Seabourn’s Latest Floating Five-Star Hotel

Gambar
The luxury cruise line’s sleek new ship features just 300 suites When the Adam D. Tihany–designed Seabourn Encore launched early last year, it piqued the interest of even the most cruise-averse jet-setters with its promise of an intimate, yacht-like experience and sleek interior spaces more akin to a five-star hotel than a floating megalith. And now, Seabourn has hit that high-water mark again with the delivery of Ovation, sister ship to Encore. Setting off on her maiden voyage today from Venice,   Ovation features just 300 suites—all boasting ocean views and private terraces large enough to host intimate alfresco meals (if the Thomas Keller–led restaurant gets old, that is) and, in the top-of-the-line Wintergarden suites, indulgent hot tubs. Back inside, the staterooms feature separate living quarters and plush bedrooms, outfitted in Tihany’s classic palette of dark woods, nautical navy, and lush red. And while the Ovation’s guestrooms are actually big enough to comfortably lo...

Bermuda’s Rosewood Luxury Resort is About to Get Even Better

Gambar
Bermuda’s most luxurious hotel is back—and isn’t fooling around. Set to reopen on April 1, the Rosewood Bermuda is poised to make a splash on the North Atlantic island, once again elevating the local standard of service and style. The Rosewood first opened in 2009 with a contemporary, island-inspired look that was more akin to chic St. Barts or sexy Anguilla than quiet colonial Bermuda. But the vibe —we’ll call it classic British meets Montauk—worked, and the resort was a sensation. Nearly a decade later, the Rosewood—which sits on Bermuda’s largest private pink-sand beach—is once again causing a stir thanks to the completion of a $25 million renovation. The 92 reimagined guestrooms and suites, transformed by the internationally-recognized firm Dawson Design Associates, combine crisp lines and contemporary furnishing—in a soft neutral color palate—with azure blue accents, including hand-selected fabrics that reflect the island’s stunning natural surroundings. London-based designer Al...
